Video: Helping Children Make Good Choices

Video: Helping Children Make Good Choices

Here is a video for parents/moms to use towards a child who made a bad choice. With my daughters grown, I can only imagine how hard it is to become teacher as a parent. They don’t have the choice of having different environments like school, the afterschool group, or a sport they love. They are with you and a babysitter and that’s it.

Moms Wear Many Hats

Along with that, they are aware that school this year is going to take place at home and not with their friends. This is a hard time for kids because their friends, sports, and school are their whole life. These are now being taken from them. It is stirring up feelings and having some make poor choices with friends.

Why the Video

As I was at my condo pool, there were some neighbor children making bad choices. How funny was it that just before I left for the pool, I asked the universe to give me something to write on or a topic that I could do a video?

Low and behold, the topic presented itself. So in the effort to get my thoughts on video, I quickly threw my hair up, typed out some points to hit and created a video for moms to use towards their child. Since it must be hard being both parent and teacher, here is a video to speak to your child (probably 5th grade-hs age).

Ideas & Strategies for Better Choices

As you review the video, you will see me speaking to the child about how their bad choice can affect their life. I give ideas on how to notice the bad behavior with a friend, how to speak up with a friend, what to say to get out of the peer pressure, and ideas to do around the neighborhood.

Be sure to review the video. Before showing it, make sure it coincides with your family’s motto and beliefs. Because children are aware that schools will not be normal this year, it is creating anxiety and emotions. It is vital to deal with so be sure to work on those this them. You will find them acting out. For those days when you need someone else to speak to your child, simply have them watch this twelve minute message that might help them look at the world a little bit different and make better choices.
