When Your Heart Speaks to You, Listen

As we go about our days, our heart is speaking to us all the time, but because we’re so busy, we don’t hear a word it says. However, if you practice taking a five minute break three times a day to listen, you’ll be amazed.

I know we’re all very busy with our children and their activities not to mention working to pay the bills. Be that as it may, as soon as I gave my heart the attention it was seeking from me, things haven’t been the same. I feel so much more connected to myself, I feel happier, and I feel that same feeling you get when you’re inside “It’s a Small World” at Disneyland.

When you allow your heart to speak, it will fill your head with positive thoughts. Instead of wondering about others and what they’re up to, your heart’s positive outlook helps you stay peaceful by allowing you to hear what you should be focusing on.

What I’ve found by stopping and listening is that I feel more connected to who I am and what I need to concentrate on to be a better me. I connect with my feelings. I’ll let the feelings of sadness or happiness work its way out. Letting these feelings come to the surface is just your body’s way of letting go of what no longer serves you as well as point you in the next right direction. Listen and follow, it’s never wrong.

If you think about it, we are all looking for happiness. With that said, the more you stop and smell the roses, the more you will see a smile on your reflection of your laptop screen or phone.

I can’t promise the same results, but when I opened up, I learned to wipe negative thoughts from my mind, and learned to live in the moment. It sounds crazy but I felt like Snow White with all the animals coming close to say hello. For several days, I had a friendly hummingbird make his appearance at my front window where no plants were found with nectar. My favorite pelicans and a hawk showed up at the shore on my walks, and my new totem owl arrived on facebook, TV, and magazine pictures. As I took these all in, I heard my heart speak to me on how to approach an upcoming writing assignment and what topics to write or speak on.

All in all, if you stop your world for three short moments a day, you’ll not only feel better inside, but your peace and happiness will radiate outward to those who need to experience it. We are the light bearers for those around us who are in need of our healing light to help them through a tough time.

Take your heart breaks not only for yourself, but for those breaking hearts around you. Your heart spreading its love is the best gift you can give to everyone.
